Seasons Greetings from The Brown Family Homestead!
This fall we tried to continue to offer fresh produce at our farmstand. Unfortunately, we realized that grocery prices, even when purchased wholesale, have risen considerably. We are experimenting with dehydrating fresh produce and transforming the results into quick and easy soup mixes, desserts, baking mixes. With the holidays upon us we are also finding crafters who are creating wonderful gifts and products. Slowly we would like to develop a line of products that can help busy families quickly put a nourishing and comforting meal on the table at the end of the day. We will try to keep you informed about things we are offering through our website, blog, and on social media.
I apologize that this website has been dormant for so long. I have had multiple Google and website server platforms issues which made me want to shut everything digital down. I still may be making some changes but for now you can find updates from our Homestead here. There is never a dull moment on the farm. It is a lot of work but definitely worth the effort.
You, our neighbors and community, are what drives us. We need one another. When we encounter one another at the "stand" or on the party deck, I feel connected, appreciated, and supported. I hope you do. Our stand is based on an honor system. Please take what you need and leave what you can. Our established price of $6 a dozen does not cover the cost of raising hens that produced the quality of eggs you purchase, but we are always happy to share what we have with our neighbors and friends and those among us who have needs. We are blessed.
